Your gundog is not being naughty. They are being a gundog.
The pulling, the hunting, the running off, the chasing, the not coming back. None of it is bad behaviour. It is your dog doing exactly what they were bred to do, with nowhere to put it.
Pet gundogs carry the same drive, the same instincts, and the same need for a job as their working counterparts. The difference is nobody gave them an outlet for it. So they find one themselves. And that is where the frustration starts.
The good news is that once you understand what your dog actually needs, and you start giving it to them in the right way, everything changes. The walks get easier. The recall gets stronger. The dog who ran you ragged starts to settle, focus, and genuinely enjoy working with you.
That is what Bonzo’s Happy Gundog Club is here for.
Over 200 training videos, from beginner to advanced
Every section is broken down step by step so you and your dog can progress at your own pace, in your own time, around your real life. Every video has been built around the training issues Karen sees most often in pet gundogs and hunting breeds including Spaniels, Retrievers, Vizslas, HPRs, Dachshunds and Terriers. If your dog hunts, chases, or struggles to switch off, you are in the right place.
Topics covered include focus on walks, loose lead walking, heel work, whistle recall, stop whistle, turn and hunt cues, sit stays and waits, searching and hunting together, impulse control, retrieve and delivery to hand, leave and drop, mental stimulation, freework, scent work, and much more.
Puppy Training with Keith
A full week by week video series following Karen’s own spaniel Keith from 8 weeks old through to 16 weeks and beyond. Everything you need in those early weeks, done properly, so the foundations are right from day one. Keith’s journey maps naturally into the core training content as he grows, so you always know what to work on next.
Adolescence
One of the most misunderstood stages of a dog’s life and one of the most common reasons owners feel like they are going backwards. There is a full dedicated section covering what adolescence actually is, why it happens, what it does to your gundog, and exactly how to work through it rather than against it.
Guest Expert Sessions
Karen regularly brings leading professionals into the club to share their knowledge directly with members. Recent sessions have included a vet behaviourist covering noise sensitivity and anxiety, and a specialist gundog trainer taking the group through gundog exercises and a live Q&A. These sessions are exclusive to club members and stay inside the club after they air.
Live Q&As with Karen, twice a month
Every month Karen runs two live sessions where members can ask anything about their dog’s training. No question is too basic or too complicated. Karen also posts additional Q&A content each month based on what the group most wants to work on, so the club responds to what you are actually dealing with right now, not just what was relevant when the content was filmed.
New Content Every Week
Something fresh goes into the club every single week. There is always new material to work through and Karen is constantly adding to the library based on what members actually need.
Exclusive Discount Codes
Members get access to discount codes from leading gundog equipment suppliers and top dog food, treat, toy and wellness brands.
